Raw, real, & relatable conversations about being an artist with disabilities

ahhh, i'm so excited!!!!
I am down right giddy about this new collaboration with Cristina Jones, a.k.a The Blind Soprano (and that's a phrase I never use so you know I'm excited). Cristina and I met during a production of The Magic Flute a few years ago. I was instantly charmed by her beautiful personality, sense of humor, and voice...not to mention her companion Bradford- the world's sweetest guide dog.
I was thrilled when she reached out a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to collaborate in some way. We talked for a while and agreed that we both wanted to do something that was going to be impactful, educational, creative, and have a large reach.
We quickly and enthusiastically decided a podcast was the way to go.
"With the help of this podcast, we hope to shed light on the myths and realities of being artists with disabilities, talk openly about the work the arts needs to implement to be more inclusive of disabled people, speak with guests about their work and how their disability colors their career, and we also hope to motivate our audience to mindfully take action in making the arts more accessible and inclusive." - Cristina
what is this podcast all about?
We created this space to amplify disabled voices, break down stereotypes, and have real conversations about disability, art, and everything in between.
Each month we will feature artists of varying backgrounds and abilities and talk with them openly about their work, the art form they are a part of, the unique demands on their bodies, as well as some of the misconceptions surrounding their disability as it pertains to the work they do. Both non-disabled and disabled artists will be invited as guests, but all conversations will be relevant to disability in that particular art form.
Each episode will be around 25 min.
